The System

Planning is not a test you can fail. It is simply a way to give your ideas, responsibilities, creativity, and memories a place to land.

Robyne Recommends is built around four connected practices: Capture, Plan, Create, and Keep. They are not rigid steps. They are tools you can use in the order that makes sense for you.

Capture

Get it out of your head before it becomes seventeen mental tabs and a vague feeling that you are forgetting something.

Capture ideas, tasks, dates, inspiration, things to research, projects to revisit, and the little details worth remembering later.

Plan

Decide what matters and where it goes.

Planning is not about making an impossibly perfect week. It is about looking at what is real, choosing what matters most, and giving yourself a workable next step.

Create

Create can mean making the page yours – color, stickers, lettering, dashboards, and a spread you enjoy opening.

It can also mean creating the life you planned for: doing the project, making the thing, hosting the dinner, reading the book, planting the garden, or finally moving the idea from “someday” to “started.”

Keep

Not every page needs to be productive. Some pages are there to hold the good stuff.

Keep memories, photos, milestones, reflections, routines that worked, lessons you learned, and the ordinary moments that turn out not to be ordinary at all.

Use it your way

Maybe you decorate next week’s spread on Sunday, then add your appointments later:

Capture -> Create -> Plan -> Keep.

Maybe you need to see the calendar before you touch a sticker:

Capture -> Plan -> Create -> Keep.

Maybe you are in a very full season and mostly live in Capture + Plan. That counts too.

There is not a way to use this system “correctly.” It is all about a framework to find what will work best for you. The goal is to build a rhythm that helps you move through real life with a little more clarity and a little less chaos.
